Trampornas Weaving Guild was formed in 1951 as an outgrowth of a Palo
Alto Adult Education class. The school furnished looms, but also allowed the
class members to bring their own. In that year a group started to
meet in each others
homes to discuss weaving, to inspire each other and to exchange
ideas. The name "TREADLERS" was chosen for the group, but, as there already existed a guild by that name, it was changed to the Swedish word "TRAMPORNAS",
meaning the same thing.
The
Guild meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Hillview
Community Center, in Los Altos CA.
Meeting-time is 9:30 AM for refreshment. Program starts at 10:00
