In the installation Transparency?, Ulla de Larios employs hand-woven and dyed silk and wool fiber as a medium to explore the recent phenomenon of political change. The concept of transparency provides rich fodder for the artist, as it becomes a visual element of this work while suggesting its political content. de Larios describes this installation as an exploration of the recent shift from what she describes as a government shrouded in corruption and secrecy towards a new administration. She has named the five pieces in the installation Malfeasance, Hope, The Last Eight, The Next Eight? and Par for the Course. She encourages viewers to decide which is which.
